Tadaaki Otaka, Chairman of the Jury, alongside Junichi Hirokami, Ken Takaseki, Tatsuya Shimono, Hiroshi Kuwahara and Toshio Miyazawa carried out a rigorous and fair judgement where 291 applicants from 37 countries and territories were screened.

The applicants who have passed the screening will participate in the first preliminary round held in October at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall.
