A video digest of the 17th Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting, held at the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall from 12 to 18 October 2015, has been uploaded to the Competition's Web site.
The 17th Competition saw the first award of 1st prize since the prize was awarded to Tatsuya Shimono during the Competition held during the year 2000, and the recent Competition is the first in which all three prizes from 1st through 3rd were awarded since the 1994 Competition twenty one years ago.
The digest records the passionate duel through preliminary and final rounds of the fifteen young new-era conductors who were chosen to participate in the Competition out of 239 applicants from 40 countries and regions around the world. Come watch their enthusiastic contest!
